Solid PVA bags are an incredibly effective way of fishing, and it is a favourite method of carp ace and TV celebrity angler Ali Hamidi. If you want to use exactly the same set-up that has helped Ali to catch loads of carp from a wide variety of venues of the years, but you aren't confident in tying your own, then there is no longer any need to as the PVA Ready Rig has just been released.
These rigs come tied using the highly popular and very versatile Wide Gape hook pattern and 18lb Supernatural braid in weedy green pattern, and at 4.5 inches in length are the perfect choice for PVA bag fishing.
Rigs don't come much more simple than this knotless knot set up, but the hooking potential is enhanced via the use of a short piece of silicon tubing over the eye of the hook to help it flip round and take a hold in a carp's mouth.
They are suitable to be used with pretty much any bait, as they come with free Extenda stops provided so that you can get just the right amount of separation between the hookbait and bend of the hook – Ali is an advocate of keeping the hair as short as possible due to the way the fish will often feed over a solid PVA bag, and that is also the reason for using a relatively short rig.

Whether you're fishing over a clean bottom or into heavy weed, you can rest assured that you are fishing tangle-free and effectively. For the best results experiment with either an over-weighted pop-up or a wafter hookbait, with bright colours often working best.
The rigs are finished with a loop at the other end and can be attached to your chosen lead set-up using either a loop-to-loop knot or via a QC swivel. The rigs come in packs of three in a choice of size 4, 6 or 8, in both barbed and barbless.
